As the Bay Area Charity opens its new office at MacDonald Training Center, it will Present a Total of 12 Cars to Working Families Every Day Until Christmas Eve Day
TAMPA, FL (December 11, 2013) –As Wheels of Success celebrated it’s tenth year getting working families in the Bay Area get back on the road, it was faced with the closure of its long-time headquarters at the Family Justice Center earlier this year. With the support of the community, and amazing local partners, Wheels of Success is celebrating the grand opening of its new office by providing a car to a working family every day for twelve days before Christmas Eve Day.
MacDonald Training Center (MTC) generously opened its doors to Wheels of Success earlier this year when it learned about the loss of the charity’s offices. Wheels of Success has partnered with MTC for years, helping many of their consumers reach the next level of career advancement with a transportation solution. The space MacDonald Training Center provided is much larger than Wheels of Success’ previous space at the Family Justice Center, with greater infrastructure that accommodates the nonprofit’s growth and its plans for the future. The charity’s many supporters, partners and recipients will gather at the new office for a grand opening party from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at 5420 W. Cypress Street, Tampa, FL 33607, where the first of the twelve cars will be presented.
The grand opening will also serve as the kick-off for the new holiday program. 12 Cars of Christmas will allow Wheels of Success and its partners to provide transportation solutions for 12 working Bay area families, each of the twelve days before Christmas Eve Day. With the support of local partners like the Gold & Diamond Source, State Farm and Bank of America, the holiday campaign will help veterans, caregivers, and others access the vehicles they desperately need to achieve self-sufficiency, and find greater success.
The first car will be presented to Phil, a MacDonald Training Center consumer who has been riding his bike to work along dangerous Adamo Drive. This car will provide Phil with safe and reliable transportation to get to work, stay healthy, and advance in his career. Several of the vehicles during the 12 Cars of Christmas will be presented at Wheels of Success’ new office at MacDonald Training Center, with the other vehicles presented at the Build-A-Car donors’ locations. A full list of recipients and partners will be made available closer to the start of the program.
